Riley Wrestlers Favorite Moves

Why should someone have a favorite move?

Fireman’s carry

Having a favorite food in wrestling is almost the same as a favorite food, or maybe even a favorite game in some situations. Having a favorite move just means you found the move that you either like running most, works the most, or even could just look or feel good.

Theres no requirement for a favorite move, it can be whatever feels the best for you, works the best for you, or even what you think just looks really cool. Now the reason why everyone should have a favorite move is so they have something they can start setting up when the match starts, or even just something reliable to use when in doubt. On the other hand, if you dont have a fav move you you wont have a move you can practice without stop and have something dangerous in your arsenal of moves. This is simply because Its better to train one move a million times than a million moves trained once, when your on the mat and you have all those people watching you, your gonna have adrenaline; So when your out there you usually cant think straight and have to rely on muscle memory. Yes, there may be some wrestlers who can do that but its not as easy as it seems to be.

Types of moves and some basic moves for beginners

To understand why people may favor a move over another could be its a pinning move over a takedown, or maybe its not a pinning move but you can chain off of that move easily. There could be many reasons why someone favors a move and if you didnt understand any of the words i just mentioned; dont worry, ill cover those now.

Pinning moves- any move that puts an opponent into a pin, doesn't really matter from where just as long as it pins

Takedowns- a takedown is just as it says, you take the opponent from the standing position down.

Counters- a counter is also just as it seems, its when an opponent throws a move or slips up in their positioning

Chain- a move that generally gets you set up for a move and you use it to get into another one
